Tampa Bay Psychoanalytic Society,

Speaker Program Meeting: March 16, 2024

9:30 pm-12:30 pm EST

The Power of Connection

Presenter: Jane Hall, CSW, FIPA

Please join Jane S. Hall, CSW, FIPA, as she talks about “The Power of Connection.” Do not expect a bunch of conservative Freudian ideas! Jane graduated from a Freudian Institute in 1982, and it was then that she began learning from her best teachers—her patients. Back then Melanie Klein was taboo, no one ever mentioned Bion, and Winnicott had been rejected in New York. Ten years of postgraduate seminars with Martin Bergmann, Gertrude Blanck, and others kept Jane learning, but it was people at the clinic and in her private practice that gave her a fulfilling professional life. Jane hopes to share some of what she learned with you on March 16th.

Jane Hall graduated from New York University and received her Certificate in Psychotherapy from the the Institute of the Study of Psychotherapy and her Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the New York Freudian Society (CFS). Currently, Jane serves as Supervising Analyst at the Contemporary Freudian Society, of which she is a past President and where she created the Psychotherapy Track, and is on the faculty at the Metropolitan Institute for Training.

Jane Hall lectures nationally and and internationally. She is the author most recently of The Power of Connection (IPBooks, 2022), as well as of Roadblocks on the Journey of Psychotherapy (2004) and Deepening the Treatment (1998), both published by Jason Aronson. and many articles.

Jane is a member of the Tampa Bay Psychoanalytic Society.
