Presenter: Adam Estevez MD

Dr. Adam Estevez is a psychoanalyst and contemporary artist in St. Petersburg, Florida.  In 1990, Dr. Estevez was awarded Harvard National Scholar, graduating cum laude in psychology from Harvard College.  After medical school, Dr. Estevez completed his psychiatry residency at Cornell University and forensic psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University.  Dr. Estevez completed his psychoanalytic training with Tampa Bay Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies in 2017.

(9:30am-12:30pm) “Case Presentation: Trauma & Treatment”

 Summary: This presentation will be about a patient’s experience childhood trauma.  Dr. Estevez will interview the patient regarding her own experience in the mental health world including diagnoses, treatment, and behavior.  Dr. Estevez and his patient will discuss their perspectives on the patient’s diagnosis and treatment. 

  Objectives: Upon completion of the program, the participant will be able to:

  • 1.      Define the term “dysregulation.”
  • 2.      Define the term “attachment.”
  • 3.      Define the term “trauma.”
